Strength Program

For runners, strength training isn’t about lifting more weight. It’s about building the resilience and coordination that allow you to keep running well.

Strength training is already part of every Steady State run program. You receive simple, effective routines designed to support durability and help you tolerate the demands of consistent training.

The Progressive Strength Program is available for athletes who want more structure and progression in their strength work. This program provides a thoughtfully designed strength progression that evolves alongside your running.

The goal is to build the strength qualities that support running over time, while keeping the sessions efficient and realistic within your training schedule.

What’s Included

Progressive Strength Programming

  • Strength training is organized into four-week phases that gradually develop durability, coordination and power in ways that support your running performance.

Integrated with Your Run Training

  • Strength sessions are scheduled alongside your running so the overall training load remains balanced and manageable.

Delivered Through TrainingPeaks

  • Workouts appear directly within TrainingPeaks so you can view your run and strength sessions in the same place.

Clear Instruction and Demonstration

  • Each exercise includes video demonstrations and coaching cues so you understand how to perform the movement safely and effectively.

Efficient Sessions

  • Workouts are typically 45-60 minutes, performed twice per week and are designed to fit realistically alongside your running.

Flexible Training Location

  • Sessions can be completed at home or in the gym. Most workouts require only a few basic pieces of equipment such as dumbbells or kettlebells, resistance bands, and a light medicine ball.

Progressive Strength Program

Monthly Add-On ($35/month)

The Progressive Strength Program is available as a monthly add-on for athletes working with Steady State Endurance through 1:1 Coaching or a Customized Race Plan.
